Apartment Living in Midtown Atlanta
In the last ten years, Atlanta's city center, Midtown has blossomed into an exciting place to live, work and play. Sandwiched between historic Downtown Atlanta and trendy Buckhead, Midtown is centrally located making it only a short drive from anywhere Atlanta. Along with easy highway access, Midtown has several stops on the public transit railway (MARTA). Atlanta's Midtown has truly become the ideal location for urban living.
Although newly renovated, Midtown has always had excellent dining options; including, the Flying Biscuit, South City Kitchen, Einstein's, and, highly acclaimed Bacchanalia. And, if all you want is a good hot dog and fries, Midtown is home to an Atlanta-icon, The Varsity! While it can't compete with Buckhead for typical nightlife or shopping, it does boast its own variety of off-beat entertainment and boutique shops. In addition, Midtown is home to Atlanta's art district. Situated in the heart of Midtown are the 14th Street Playhouse, the Fabulous Fox Theater, and the Woodruff Arts Center (Atlanta's Ballet, Symphony Orchestra and Opera.) Next door, you'll find the newly renovated High Museum of Art. A short stroll away is the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Gardens and popular Piedmont Park. During the year, Piedmont hosts many of the city's major festivals including the Dogwood Festival and "Screen on the Green," an outdoor movie showcase.
Midtown still has many beautiful older single-family homes in the eastern districts adjacent to Piedmont Park, such as in Ansley Park and Morningside. However, the rest of Midtown is populated with hi-rise and low-rise condominiums and apartments. Because midtown is very much an urban environment, you can't beat its conveniences. Almost any building is a short walk to restaurants, shops, entertainment and, quite possibly, your job. Despite its renewal, Midtown still has many corporate office buildings and luxury hotels. And, if you are a student, Midtown is home to Georgia Tech and parts of Georgia State. More recently, Midtown welcomed Atlantic Station, a live, work, play (and shop) environment along its western side. Whether you are budget conscious or looking for luxury living, Midtown has something for you including all the benefits of city life.
